ok here is some FUN math since I see you made cookies recently. Get a recipe and HALF it. Takes math/fractions. go here http://schoolexpres s.com/index. php for free worksheets, fun hidden word challenges etc. Gives him something on paper to look at. Hope this helps.

fun stuff to do? We like to take photographs, do woodburning (not necessarily actually make art.. but, just use a woodburner to burn wood), science experiments, sew stuff (not necessarily making garments.. but just sew various scraps together).. identify trees in the yard by collecting their acorns, leaves, bark; ride bikes, go to the park, grow plants indoors (in the winter), play video games, print out mazes, bang on pots and pans, listen to music, make playdoh and play with it, listen to audiobooks, watch cartoons, watch old shows like andy griffith and f troop and get smart, look at stuff under a microscope, take apart old things that no longer work, watch youtube videos, play board games, make up board games, send stuff in the mail, get stuff in the mail, cut things with scissors, glue stuff to other stuff, make homemade cleaners.. laundry soap is fun. simple science xperiments with vinegar and baking soda and a homemade volcano, play with dogs, make homemade building blocks out of old food boxes, make a terrarium out of a jar, make stop action lego movies..

whenever i lack inspiration, i take the boys to the local thrift store and see what I can find for super cheap. We found an old pottery wheel once, a chair that transforms into a ladder that we painted, we've found the pop-up perfection board game with all the pieces, lots of crazy books, a solid wood child-size woodworking table, an air show bi-plane kite, and most of that stuff was under $5.. a couple were under $10.
